The German Society for Sports Chiropractic (DGSC) was founded in 2004 in Braunschweig by Alexander Steinbrenner (Founding President) and Sven Paris (Vice President).

Today, the DGSC is an official member of the Fédération Internationale de Chiropratique du Sport (FICS). The FICS represents a global network of national sports chiropractic associations and serves as an international platform for promoting and coordinating chiropractic care in elite sports. Furthermore, FICS is affiliated with the global sports organization SportAccord.

Over the years, FICS has organized the participation of chiropractors at numerous international sporting events, including the Olympic Summer and Winter Games, as well as regional competitions such as the All African Games, Central American and Caribbean Games, Commonwealth Games, Mediterranean Games, and Pan American Games.

German chiropractors have also participated as FICS members at major international events, including the World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China, providing care and support to athletes from around the world.
